      Beautifully made, well constructed (strong) but the crown is short.

      This hat is a real bargain at its price. It is very well made and strong, not thin. No rough edges - very smooth. The red ribbon is attractive and is stitched to the hat. The hat would fit most men but would likely sit high on their head. That means that it's not very secure. We are using the hat for a Venetian-themed party where some men have volunteered to dress as Gondoliers as they escort guests into the room and serve wine at the guests' tables. But we had to cut a hole in the top of the crown (top of the hat) in order for the hats to sit securely on the mens' heads. We lined the inside of the holes with red material so the look is still very good, barely visible unless someone looks down upon the top of the hat.

      Great Sailor Hat

      I needed porkpie hats for sailors in a show, but they were all either poor quality or too expensive. This straw Gondolier hat has a very similar look, is a generous size, unlike some costume hats, and is very good quality. We had planned to paint them black but liked the look of them so well that we're going to keep them straw colored.
