Zunehmend wird in der Gesellschaft des sogenannten Landes der Dichter und Denker daruber diskutiert, welche Werke und Autoren gelesen werden mussen, um am literarischen gesellschaftlichen Leben teilnehmen zu koennen. Abhilfe bei der Beantwortung dieser Grundsatzfrage solle der Kanon der Literatur leisten. Mittlerweile ist es ob der vielen verschiedenen Kanones einzelner gesellschaftlicher Kollektive nicht mehr rechtmassig, von ihm im Singular zu sprechen. Es kann nicht von einem literarischen Kanon gesprochen werden, da jede Gruppierung ihren eigenen unterhalt.
