Very red - use gloves!
Ran out of powdered red dye so ordered this bottle of crimson red to color guitar bodies. Very easy to mix and apply, giving consistent and even color over swamp ash and mahogany. Dried color remained stable upon application of Behlen vinyl sealer. Mixed with a little black, the color becomes a deep, rich cherry.

Not red enough
Instructions say mix dye with alcohol to make a quanity. This mix was not the deep red I need, so I used the dye full strength. This still did not dye the wood a deep red was kinda orangish on the birtch drums I am refinishing. Cannot recommend this product on my trial. This is not a wood stain but a dye, not sure the differance but I belive a stain will work better for me. For the red I need I am going to go with a good quality paint. Beautiful and versatile stain!
I came up with several variants after deciding the crimson was not the best choice for my project, but it certainly was easy to darken until I was able to achieve the results I had hoped for and was able to utilize base for several other colors. Goes a long way as well.

Great Stain
Very easy to use stain for special wood projects. Mixes well in water, alcohol or combination of both. Produces a cherry red finish on hardwoods and does not rub off when dry. Liquid bottle allows you to mix it a drop at a time.

Easy & Beautiful
Very easy to use and produced a beautiful result! But beware, we did not find gloves that would not allow this stuff in. We tried nitrile, vinyl and latex and still ended up with red fingers for a week.
