From the beginning of each driving adventure, SiriusXM satellite radio makes it possible to create a unique audio experience through the variety of programs that are offered. Select from channels that grant access to live and previously recorded materials. Set parental controls to protect young ears from mature content. Save up to 10 favorite channels for quick retrieval and for TuneMix to capture the information, presenting it as if promoting a custom-made album. Choose to either connect the audio to the existing car stereo with the aux in cable or through the PowerConnect accessories. The magnetic mount antenna and power adapter accessories connect to the PowerConnect vehicle dock just by matching the colors on the ends of the cables to the colors on the dock. Be sure to use the wire guide at the top rear to keep the cables and wires out of the way and secure. The magnetic mount antenna is easy to install by attaching it to any metal piece without having to be concerned about causing damage. Onyx navigation buttons allow easy tuning when searching the FM or SiriusXM radio channels without leaving the existing station. Channels are displayed on the LCD screen along with the artist and song, removing the need to pause the audio to find out the information through research. Changes can be made to personalize the screen by choosing from blue, red, amber, yellow, silver, or teal backlight colors and by setting the level of brightness. The trim ring can also be changed by removing it with the trim ring removal tool and selecting a different color to contrast or match the interior. Onyx connects with SiriusXM for traffic and weather reports, sports updates, and breaking news, without having to leave the comfort of the vehicle. Being able to check traffic conditions by pressing the jump button helps to plan and make informed decisions about taking alternate routes. Knowing what to expect in weather conditions generates confidence when driving into a new area and the need to determine if it is best to stop and wait for the weather to clear. The vast selection of genres available on SiriusXM and the ability to listen to this large catalog of audio material through the Onyx radio eliminates the need to rewind cassettes or repeat compact discs. The dimensions of the Onyx radio are 4 inches wide, 2.4 inches high, and .7 inches deep, which makes it easy to find a place to mount the Onyx SiriusXM satellite radio inside the vehicle with options to attach it to a vent using the vent mount or on the dashboard with the dash mount. Consider the Home Kit and Vehicle Kit accessories as each kit expands the listening pleasure to continue with SiriusXM through Onyx at other locations.

    Couldn't answer yes to any of the questions because I can't install it.

    Haven't been able to install this in my 2000 dodge Durango, it did not come with any installation information or any other paperwork for that matter, couldn't even tell you if everything for it is there. I'm sure I or someone I know will be able to figure it out in time, I just hate having spent the money and can't listen to it.

    The radio itself I'd a very good unit. However I had forgot that it does not have a quick connect so for me this not a practical item. I have used it before and really enjoyed it. Certainly not a waste of money.

    Great head unit!

    This model should never have discontinued: it is an intermediate quality unit somewhere between the Sirius Onyx EZ and Onyx Plus models, with has all of the basics of the EZ, with the improved display of the plus (the 1980's style monochrome display on the EZ is very hard on the eyes, especially at night.) If you want a quality no-frills unit, get one of these before they are all gone!
