    This Original Broadway Cast album is an essential to any collection of musical theatre scores!

    One of the first "Original Cast" albums for Broadway ("soundtracks" are in movies, not theatre) to be released in the late 1940s, "South Pacific" presents Rogers & Hammerstein's most pertinent and moving musical play, a Pulitizer Prize winner, that not only celebrates the Allied victory in WWII but also decries racial prejudice in all societies.
