    Ignore the value for money rating, as I don't know how much your copy is going to be. I like this series of films, I read the books as a child / teenager, so barely remember the story in any great detail, so will not comment on how accurately its following the books. The special effects / computer generation is good, and doesn't go overboard. Not sure if I`d buy these from new (I have seen 3 of these) or see in the cinema, but for a night in front of the TV its good entertainment.

    Classic series

    Bought this as a gift for my wife who is a big fan of the books. She now has all three dvd films of the series. The CGI special effects are what make this film outstanding, and the young actors are very natural in their roles. Recommended viewing whatever your age.
