We assembled it together to make sure that it would all work since it was going to be a gift. However, the led strips had wires that weren't connecting. We figured that two out of the whole bunch wouldn't be enough to ruin the gift. We tested it and the lights worked. Later, the lights wouldn't turn on any more. We checked all the cables and nothing was torn or ripped or out of place.
