I don't know what happened on their end but as a business that's not acceptable. Btw, this seller is drop shipping from China. They advertise they are from USA but that was false. Good luck.

I expected to open the box, assemble them and then install but I opened the box and they were packed well, in perfect condition and were already assembled making my job that much easier. All I had to do was attach them to my roof which was simple. Additionally, there is no wind noise when driving.
