The pin that is on the lower side connecting to the swing arm was too wide. They are a standard Honda size. Probably the fitting on the swinging arm has been previously damaged and been over tightened and squashed in, or possibly an imported bike with a different swinging arm. If you spent 2 hours on it you should not be working on bikes.
