Subtitles occasionally mistranslate the original - e.g. 'big words' for 'gros mots' instead of 'swear words' - and one of the plastic tabs inside one of the DVD cases broke off almost immediately after opening. Note also that the subtitles are 'hard' - it's not possible to turn them off. Bruno Cremer strikes me as the perfect Maigret, and the supporting cast are generally up to the challenge of acting alongside him.
