    One of the best adaptations - possibly my favourite Heathcliff!

    When I first came across this, my initial thought was "oh gosh, not another adaptation!" But, since I love the story and have seen most of the other versions, I decided to give it a go anyway - and am so glad that I did! Tom Hardy puts in an excellent performance as Heathcliff, succeeding in portraying how the character changes as the events of the story unfold. The character is very complex, and here he manages to show that very well, creating an on-screen version that closely matches what I imagined while reading the book. Charlotte Riley also makes a wonderful Cathy - the chemistry between the two is obvious (although the fact that her and Tom Hardy are now married indicates that it was not necessarily down to good acting, haha). Favourite scene: the grave-digging scene - no other ...

    Wuthering Heights

    Excellent film. Great portrayal of Heathcliff and Cathy by Tom and Charlotte. Great to see a different perspective on this classic novel. This focuses on the Heathcliff's bitterness and jealousy as well as the classic romance. Great film to watch if studying the book .

    Wuthering Heights

    I specifically bought this version of Wuthering Heights because it was directed by Coky Giedroyc. She also recently made a version of Oliver Twist also using Tom Hardy starring as Bill Sykes. I have seen him in other films and he was excellent. Sarah Lancashire also starred and I'm sure by now everyone knows what she is capable of as an actress. She was also in Oliver Twist, brilliant. I would recommend it to anyone. V. Gladwyn.
