    A fully functional brand new LG Blu-ray drive.. the price is priceless its an affordable drive for any desktop .it has a very good professional color black .was able to play UHD 4k movies .i have pictures to show proof it really works no problems at all .it came in small box with bubble wrap and tapped up very well ,took it out the box to let the drive receive room temperature was able to install with Sata drive connection in the Desktop. Will be interested in buying another one very soon

    Works perfect! It is true about you need several pieces of the puzzle to get direct disc playback. The hardest requirement is a BIOS with SGX enabled. You will not find that option on any AMD systems or even the 13 or 14th Gen systems. Also need cyberline power DVD. Direct 4k disc playback was done away with due to the DRM scheme they have came up with on PC playback being very specific. .

    AMD systems work fine with these drives. I have nothing but AMD systems and can stream 4K movies from these drives on any of my PCs. I do not use Cyberdyne Power DVD either. It is not required. There are many other software packages that will work. "AnyDVD HD" from RedFox is my choice. Direct 4K playback from the drives IS possible. I play 4K movies directly from the drive on every drive I sell as a test before I send them out.

    best BDXL drive on the market

    I wanted something that was able to back up as much data on a DVD as possible. So after receiving this, I ended up buring a DVD for a wedding and found out a couple of things. This burner will burn discs that may NOT be able to play in older models. To compensate for it, I ended up burning the disc at a slower speed and POOF... problem solved. This drive is great!!!! While burning, you can hardly hear any noise at all, and the data verification at the conclusion did it for me!

    Burnt out. Avoid this model. (LG WH14NS40)

    Drive would not read any discs. No Blu-ray's, no DVD's or no CD's. I opened it up and the power/SATA connection board had blown a chip. There were no power surges (I have brand new power supply), I simply pulled a DVD drive and put this one in it's place. After removing the bad drive and replacing the DVD drive to where it was the DVD drive functioned normal. Avoid this model if you can. I have read many complaints about this model and they're all the same.

    This Blu-Ray works

    I popped this into an old 2008 MacPro3,1 and it fires up. The drive works well and I am able to read BR just fine. Playing BR movie is another matter altogether because of all the right protection there. Anyway I am able to read BR disc and read and play DVD no problem. I have the 1.02 firmware one and I read it can even read 4K BR, which I can't confirm just I can't confirm if it can actually play BR movie or burn any discs due to other factors. but sure it can read BR/DVD fine. Happy with this purchase.

    Look to a different brand for a Blu Ray player.

    The player does not play the newest blu rays that came out. Finding out how to change that is near impossible. Went on the LG site and that was not helpful. I bought this so I could watch Blu-Rays on my computer and it looks like I can't. I haven't tried my older blu rays yet.
