About this product

Product Information

Our lives are driven by a fact that most of us can't name and don't understand. It defines who our friends and lovers are, which careers we choose, and whether we blush when we're embarrassed. This title shows how the brain chemistry of introverts and extroverts differs, and how society misunderstands and undervalues introverts.

The condition of the book was at best "Poor". The cover had food stains, incredibly dirty and visibly damaged. There was a metro train ticket wedged inside, and every time I hold the book I get dirt on my hands. I'm not in the habit of having to wash my books before I read them. It arrived on time and there is no damage to the pages but I won't be using this company again.

Being white, the book showed up as a bit grubby, understandable for a second hand book, but a quick wipe with an anti bac wipe was all it needed. Book itself was in very good condition with no tears, written marks or folded corners. Have yet to read it but pleased with purchase and happy with service from seller.

    Amazingly enlightening, insightful and clever

Susan Cain (a self-acknowledged introvert) points out that most of the greatest humans in history were introverts. This is a must read - introverts and extroverts alike have so much to learn here. There’s lots of good stuff, from the history of how the world became extrovert-focussed and so dismissive of introverts, the myth of leaders needing to be extroverts, how to nurture introvert (and extrovert) children, how introversion and shyness are not the same thing, why introverts make better long term investors, and much more. We are told inspirational stories about, for example, Rosa Parks, Steve Wozniak, Eleanor Roosevelt and Gandhi. This book is mandatory reading for all parents and educators, but also for anybody that deals with people (i.e. pretty much everybody!). I got some fantastic ...

  • Simply mind blowing

I would recommend it to everyone who would like to understand why introverted people are the way they are and that it has a purpose and meaning that we have introverted as well as extroverted people on the planet; because the two can balance each other. Also we can see the "backstage" of society, the hidden causes which led to today's major way of thinking. Although, I haven't finished reading the book yet, I already like it.

  • Great read

Really great book! Very insightful and the writing style keeps it both interesting and informative. Would definitely recommend for any introvert or extrovert to read great for understanding both sides of the spectrum.

  • If you relate to this, please read it

Helped mu daughter no end understand the world around her and how to deal with it. Filtering out the noise is short term or a sticking plaster when needed. This goes a long way to providing a solution.

  • Good Book so far!

A very encapsulating book helping me realise some characteristics in myself being on the introvert-side of the spectrum! Book quality is good but used, but this does not bother me at all!
