    The Tusk rack is really nice, a bit heavy at a little over 12lbs, but that comes with the peace of mind the subframe supports offer and the addition of passenger peg brackets. It also has the capability to add the Tusk pannier supports. Installation is pretty simple and clean looking. The subframe supports take up some room near the rear tire, so they recommend nothing wider than a 130. I just mounted turn signals to the rack and didn't use the extensions. It does come with wire extensions.

    A Great Rack with a Couple of Considerations

    First off, if someone is a weight weeny, this thing is hefty, but the total package needs consideration. That weight includes the subframe supports, which also incorporate passenger peg brackets. If someone's XR650L is missing the stock pegs, that's a big plus, and even if it has them, this rack enables the use of aftermarket ones (that aren't going to be floppy like worn out OEM ones). The next big consideration is the rear tire width restriction. Tusk suggest nothing wider than a 130, because of the reduced clearance the subframe supports cause. There is no straight-forward way to use the rack without the subframe supports, because the entire design is built around them. If those first two things aren't an issue, then it's a great rack.     Tusk tail rack

    The material quality seems to be really good, but the instructions and fitment are not. The attachment for the two sub-frame supports at the back use only the original tiny turn signal bolts and don't have much strength. Also, the RH sub-frame support is extremely close to the tire and could have been designed with better clearance. The instructions were difficult at best to understand, and picture quality was terrible. I'm pretty mechanically inclined, so I figured it out, but it could be simplified easily. Overall very good quality product that has some room for improvement in the execution side.
