[M]uch more than a History of the Popes...it is a mine of information and source material into which anyone working in late medieval and sixteenth-century history will wish to burrow., [Setton's] study has no equal...it excels in precision of all data...[a] magnum opus... a superlative achievement, [N]ot just an invaluable documentary storehouse for the specialist diplomatic historian...Setton provides a readable chronological account of major European, especially Mediterranean affairs, which can be utilized and enjoyed by a whole variety of students...[E]ssential in a good history library., The publication of [volumes 3 and 4] brings to a splendid conclusion one of the great historical enterprises of the decade...Setton's work is a monument not only to the industry of a lifetime but to the concerns of a humanist historian. For all his detail, at once powerful and overwhelming, Setton never forgets the individual, the person who is at the center of the web of events and movements we call history.

This hardback book is of the highest quality, has a fine appearance , arrived in perfect condition, and is an excellent value. On what I was not asked about this time, communicating with the seller would have required using email outside of the eBay system, because they do not accept eBay messages, the book was well packed in a purpose-designed cardboard box, the shipping was faster than I expected for the bound media rate, and the book was exactly as described and pictured.

This is an outstanding seller to deal with. Fair prices that are more than reasonable in this economy. The product is in better condition than described, a true value for my money. Packaged and shipped well shows seller has concern for the products he sells to arrive in excellent condition. The seller is friendly and communicates timely with his customers. I highly recommend this seller and would do business again anytime. Thank you!
