  • Great value, good quality telescope

This telescope is good value, well built and reasonably easy to set up. It is heavy enough to reduce vibration but light enough to make it completely portable. The two lenses supplied are of good quality, You will need a little patience setting up the “red dot” finder scope but once done larger objects like planets and constellations are easily viewed. I have immediately bought a 2x Barlow lens and a moon filter, it is a pity Skywatcher don’t include these as they would make the first experience so much better. The main drawback of this extending design is the fact that any light pollution from nearby street lights etc makes highly magnified viewing impossible as the mirror is effectively open to the environment. It’s a compromise worth making if you view dark skies but will detract ...

  • People are not kidding about the high quality of this cope

Although I felt imediately I wanted a 3.6mm lens, the two lenses provided are good. The telescope produces SHARP images. The moon is a, well, sight to be seen through the 130p. The tindal is very good and easy to use and so far I haven't had the need to collimate, and I am using it often in my backyard. It will need a light shroud and some light pollution filter, but that is because I live close to many city lights. Also, get a 3.6mm lens. Overall you are going to be AMAZED by this telescope. I love it already.
