Synopsis
The Star Wars saga is a sprawling space opera that has captivated fans for decades and continues to inspire a new generation. Evil tyrannical oppression rules this world and heroes must rise to battle the darkness. Psychiatrist Carl Jung and mythologist Joseph Campbell observed that people in every place and time tell tales of heroes who face darkness, win victories, and returned transformed. This archetypal Hero's Journey underlies the Star Wars story and demonstrates the role of psychology in shaping this saga. By exploring psychology, fans can better grasp the motivation and mental states of their favorite characters. What is individuation and how does it embody the tenets of a powerful spiritual organization? How does anxiety disorder explain the transformation of a character's psyche from good to evil and back to good? Can robots feel pain and suffering? How do limb amputation and neuroprosthetics impact the brain? Does music influence our emotional reading of this saga? In 20 chapters from a range of esteemed psychology professionals, a foreword by Carrie Goldman (author of Bullied: What Every Parent, Teacher, and Kid Needs To Know About Ending the Cycle of Fear), and "Force Files" exploring the "Big Five" personality factors and the characters who embody each major trait, Star Wars Psychology: Dark Side of the Mind sheds new light for fans of the series and psychology. Book jacket., This essay collection offers a fascinating psychological analysis of the compelling and complex universe of George Lucas's richly rendered Star Wars series. A group of expert contributors examines such topics as family ties, Jedi qualities, masculinity, girl power, and the values embodied in both the "dark" and "light" sides of this psychologically spellbinding world., From its very first frame, the Star Wars series created a compelling universe, with complex characters and engaging storytelling. In advance of the highly anticipated new movie, "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens," this essay collection offers a fascinating and unauthorized psychological analysis of every aspect of George Lucas's richly rendered world. A group of expert contributors, edited by Travis Langley, examines such topics as family ties, Jedi qualities, masculinity, girl power, and the values embodied in both the "dark" and "light" sides of this spellbinding world.

The seller is quite congenial. Can't get the item to work, this sometimes happens if one lets thr ink set without using the device. I contacted the seller and explained the circumstances stating that before we do any refund, a shop I use will be available on Tuesday, 11/26/2024, and I will have the item checked out, then a decision shall be made, on which, the seller agreed. Either way, I believe that the both of us will be satisfied with it being a pleasure of doing business with them.

Absolutely PERFECT! I was notified as soon as I made the purchase that our beloved Rockruff was ready for shipment and would start his journey to us the next morning. Package arrived on time and was able to contact seller if I had any questions. When we received our package it was exactly as described and we are truly over the moon. Couldn’t be more thankful! 10/10 recommend doing business with seller!!
