Additional Information
SAVING GRACE is genuinely funny British comedy about Grace, a recently widowed woman who risks losing her wonderful estate and beautiful garden because of the huge debts her husband left when he died. To cure her financial ailments, she uses her horticultural talent to raise--and then sell--marijuana plants. But, when Grace gets herself caught between the police, some serious London drug pushers, and the real estate agents who have a claim on the estate, audiences will certainly turn a blind eye to the law in order to "save Grace."

    Saving Grace DVD

Love this film Brenda Blethyn brings out the best in her role as the widow left with so many debts by her late husband. She has to find a way to save her home and it's contents before they are repossessed.

  • Most critical review

Okay but could have been a lot better

The characters and script were very contrived and unconvincing. It is likely that most people choosing this video will have experienced being stoned and it is clear that the scriptwriters hadn't. The subtleties of the effects are naturally funny but the performances of people just behaving like out-of-control morons (stripping naked and dancing around yelling "Wheeeeee!") just doesn't cut it. It was okay and marginally entertaining but, although the subject matter must obviously be aimed at adults, the humour and performances were clearly aimed at children. A bit disappointing.

  • Gentle old style comedy

Gentle old style comedy, well acted and filmed, but nowhere near as funny as other reviews have reported. Filmed at same location as Doc Martin, and Martin Clunes plays the doctor ! I suspect this is where they got the idea.

  • Good fun film

Not something I would normally have watched, but it was really entertaining. With a very eclectic range of actors. Well worth a watch. Couldn't get it on my streaming channels, so bought this dvd.

  • A story to start you crying leave you laughing.

I was living in Port Isaac while they filmed this, but was away on a contract for the entire shoot. My brother-in-law was one of the extras, as was an acquaintance from the pub (who even got in the credits!). I finally thought it was about time to own the DVD. It is at least the third time I've watched it and I don't re-watch many films. I may be a little prejudiced, but I'd say there are few faultless films, and this is one of them.
