    Good aid for help in standing up

    It does help with my husband who is finding it difficult to stand up from a chair. I found out to our detriment that we cannot use it to pull him up, I just need to hold it at a level that is comfortable for him to give him purchase/stability so he can stand up himself. When I tried to pull him up, he let go for some reason and fell back onto the floor. Bad news. After that I researched the correct way to stand up on the net and there is a lot of advise! Basically, the person needs to sit at the edge, then lean a bit forward to stand up. As older people find it difficult/frightening to lean forward, this gadget helps by giving a feeling of security/stability.
