        Villain DVD - Richard Burton

        Richard Burton plays way out of his zone in this film from 1971, sometimes slated as a bad film, it is a tour de force and Burton as the main character dominates as a homosexual gangland boss who loves his mum and is a psycho just for good measure. Featuring many well known actors of the time, Colin Welland, Nigel Davenport, Ian McShane (making an early film appearance) and many more, the soft colour film stock used adds real atmosphere. Many of the locations in the film have changed beyomng recognition, the least scene is shot around Nine Elms and much of that is now redeveloped. Watch the film for the story first and then again for the scenery.

        Nostalgic classic London gangster movie. Great actors. Recommended Raw action packed film, superb shots of late sixties / early seventies London & suburbs + Brighton !

        this film is not bad set in the early 60s richard burton plays a london gangster and does this pretty well too. not what you would expect from richard burton films. i would recomend.
