With the easy-to-use Cricut universal overlay, your Cricut experience can reach a whole new level. This universal overlay gives a simple and consistent format for all cartridges made after August 2013. Use it with the smaller cartridges to make crafting a quick and easy process. With this device, you can purchase all the design sets that you want without having to store multiple overlays. Each design comes with clear instructions that tells you which buttons to press on the Cricut Universal Overlay to get the different parts that will make up your design. The universal overlay measures about 10.2 inches by 5 inches, so it does not take up much space. The device weighs less than one ounce, meaning you can take it with you or store it away when you are not using it. The keys range from white to black based on their function, but the surrounding material that keeps the device in place is clear for easy use. It resembles a traditional computer keyboard. However, each of the numbers correspond to the designs you will find in the different cartridges. The black and gray buttons on the left and right are feature buttons and they will tell the computer what to do, and the white buttons in the center are the letters, images, and other things you can make. By using this device, you have more options because you can choose from a multitude of designs for your crafts. After you plug in the device and the cartridge of your choice, you can make handmade cards, home decor, and scrapbooking materials with just the push of a button or two. Before Cricut introduced the universal overlay, users had to learn how to use each separate cartridge. This meant that users had to learn how to organize, save, and cut each specific design based on the cartridge and the overlay that was designed for that cartridge alone. By using this keypad, users only have to learn how to cut the designs once, which will reduce your frustration and cut down on the time that is spent not crafting. Like all previous keypads, this device goes right on top of the Cricut machine keys. In addition, Cricut was able to reduce the size of the cartridges, meaning the costs can be kept down for users. Furthermore, there are not as many accessories that need to be stored, allowing you to keep your craft space clean and clear. In fact, you can save your storage space for papers to craft with. This versatile Cricut keypad can be used with the original Cricut Create and Expression machines for maximum flexibility when creating die cuts for scrapbooking, card making, and other creative projects. Use this device to cut one piece or even cut them all. Once you get the hang of using the device, all you have to do is follow the key instructions that come with the cartridge booklet.
