Plastic lamp cover about 2-3mm thick, Seals at least to IP44 (stated) and as we live close to North Sea I out it upside down in a bowl of water / turned fire hose on each of two we bought to test / seal any ingress. After fixing to brick 35cm pillars with poured concrete cores, my wife hit the pillar of one with a ride-on lawnmower, breaking away one brick. The post light didn't even loosen. Graduate engineer 50 years experience
