    Excellent.

    I wanted this for two reasons. I teach a Shakespeare course in a program for seniors using performances, and the Romeo and Juliet I am showing next semester stars Ellie Kendrick as Juliet, and I wanted to see what she had done before that earned her this starring role. And as an amateur actor I have acted in the play twice, first, when I was in my thirties, as Otto Frank and in my fifties as Dussel. In the original play Dussel is played as a comic figure with no-one in his life who knows nothing about Judaism. This was a totally false portrayal of the real man, who was a devout Jew and had a wife and son on the outside. A later version of the play corrected these errors. I wanted to see how Dussel was portrayed in this version, and I was delighted to see that he was portrayed accurately. ...

    This is beautifully staged and the actors are all playing their characters so brilliantly - portraying them as they really were - Ellie is a wonderful Anne - just how I imagined her to be - so sad they never survived - all but Anne's Dadx
