    Fits both Maplin and Silverline soldering stations.

    I bought this replacement iron in the hope that it would fit my old Maplin 50W soldering station. Since Maplin went out of business I did not know where to get spares. The Maplin unit is branded Union Brothers BP 53. This replacement iron works just fine! As a bonus I found that this iron also fits my Silverline 48W soldering station catalogue no: 265829. Silverline replacement tips (part no 282578) are readily available and these fit the iron too. All in all a good solution which keeps my old Maplin solder station working.

    Good replacement item

    The product performs well and avoided the Maplin soldering station from becoming redundant. I am happy with the product and the price is reasonable. The iron is easy to handle and is light.
