    Amazing for craft work

Bought this as I customise shoes for a living and they're quite tricky to work with when transferring heat transfer vinyls but this tool has made it much easier! Heats up in just a few minutes and then it does the job very quickly

  • Most critical review

I hoped to replace my regular iron with Antex...

...but somehow it does not fit the purpose and overall despite spending £20 I don't use it as much. It is not as hot as the iron despite being on highest setting (off, 1, 2 options) and it takes long to reach the temperature. The Antex is quite ergonomic and the plate is designed well and reaches what big irons don't so it's a PLUS. But the cord is quite heavy in comparison to the device weight and it's also rigid so I need to be careful not to knock it sideways on its stand to avoid burning myself or something on my work table. I bought it strictly for paper piecing quilting, but now as a creative mind i shall have to find a different purpose for it - maybe using a different attachment (that needs to be bought separately) I will unlock its potential?

  • Very useful little gadget

I ordered this for pressing awkward seams when sewing. I was a bit worried as other reviews had said it didn't get hot enough, but it gets plenty hot enough for my purposes (and hot enough to burn myself on...). It does take a little while to fully heat up. On receipt of the box I was very pleasantly surprised to find that you can buy different attachments for different purposes - so for less than the price of a cheap hotfix gem applicator, I've ordered a whole assortment of gem fixing tips. Turns out you can get tips for wood burning as well. Very pleased.

  • Dangerous

I bought this little iron as I make sewing boxes and this could have got into tight little corners. When I plugged it in it didn't work. So my husband replaced the fuse. This time it sparked and a loud bang ensued and pain shooting up my arm. Thankfully we had the house required and the trips stopped me getting hurt. But it was enough to frighten me. Although this was a bad experience, so far rapid have been really helpful and this is no reflection on them, I just got unlucky.

  • So fr so good

it scores highly because the price was very competitive. it does heat up quickly and it's easy to handle. it was also delivered very quickly so thanks for that. I haven't been able to use it specifically yet as I'm waiting for other materials to begin my project. I'll be happy to submit another review on it's use later.
