      A Wonderful true story

My brother recommended this film but I had already read a newspaper article on the amazing story. I thought the film was excellent with great lead actors and the child was excellent too. The filming in the crowded chaotic stations and the street scenes were all utterly believable Comic scenes when he is at the orphanage & learning English before his adoption. Very touching scenes too with his adoptive family in New Zealand , his frustrating google search and the finale when he was reunited with his mother. Could not fault this film.

    • Best film I have seen for ages.

Fantastic film, one of the best I have seen for ages. So convincingly acted, and to top it up based on a true story. So well acted both by the youngster in the beginning and the adults at the end. The ending was beautiful, and also the DVD had some photo's and live pictures of the actual people, who's lives were portrayed. I will watch it again, too good not to.

    • Thoroughly enjoyable film

Telling the story of Saroo, a little boy who ends up on a train crossing from one side of India to the other. With no one able to find the village he claims to be from, little Saroo is put into an orphanage before being adopted by an Australian couple. As he grows up Saroo is keen to trace his real family back in India, and so the journey begins with a little help from Google Earth. This is a really enjoyable film with a heart warming conclusion. Dev Patel puts in a great performance alongside Nicole Kidman. Based on a true story it is very much a family film, quite tear jerking in places. Will definitely warm the cockles of your heart!

    • Brilliant and moving story

A captivating insight into the real and terrible lives some children have in India. Then a second chance in Australia with a wonderful and loving family. But he never forgot his old life and family. They were always in his mind and had to go back. Sad but true story.
