    Excellent and simple

I had looked into several ways to cover my Wi-fi black spots and just buying this made the most sense. I have my disc wired to the router via cabling in the house and I now get seamless fast Wi-fi all over the house which is quite long. The router provides Wifi coverage from its location st the front of the house and the disc provides the same Wi-fi coverage around its own location at the back of the house. This is a mesh Wi-fi so there are no roaming problems and no cut out when you move from one area to the other. It can be set up without the cable using a separate Wi-fi Chanel between it and the router for the back haul, but I prefer the slightly higher performance cabled configuration and the cabling was already there in my case. BT offer the same equipment on a subscription which ...

    Why did I bother

It didn't work by simply exchanging connections on a BT hub6. The DNS was altered on each piece of hardware used over wi fi which made surfing impossible. There were disconnections continually. Articles on the internet recommend disabling the smart feature which helped but lost one of the reasons I bought it in the first place. I still might switch back to Hub 6 as it is still not functioning well.

  • Fibre to the premises upgrade from BT hub 3 to BT smart hub 2

I have BT fibre to the premises and had a BT hub 3 which was showing its age. Upgrade to the latest BT smart hub 2 was the obvious upgrade, but not at BT prices. Ordered off Ebay and received a couple of days later.Removed the Hub 3 (3 plugs and the power supply). Unpacked and plugged in power supply to smart hub 2, plugged in3 cables and switched on. Re configured internet on 2 laptops, 2 mobile phones and pc. Took about 10 minutes. Result? Quicker internet on devices and better signal around the house. For a tenth of the BT price what is not to like. Very pleased

  • Shouldn't have waited to upgrade.

Brought this to upgrade from my deteriorating BTHub5. This new smart hub is excellent. It's slightly bigger but lighter. Set up was easy as it only needed plugging in and everything in my house instantly connected. I can already see that the speed has increased by about 20 and I have no more drop outs on any devices.

  • Nice upgrade

Had the hub 5 for at least 8 years. Didn’t have a problem with it or bt. Felt like an upgrade with more hd streaming in the house etc. Also wanted a better signal for back garden man cave so to make full advantage of streaming services, thought I would try the smart hub 2 with booster disc. And works perfectly. Easy to set up and a straight replacement for hub 5. Starts up faster than hun 5 and even better streaming speed. Once the disc is paired to the main hub, it can be switched off for when not needed and pairs straight up when turned back on. Got the facelift model with black and white bt logo. Just check if one of these is compatible for your upgrade. I have infinity and is a straight upgrade so you will have to check if it will upgrade your Wi-fi connection.
