It looked new and unused but had a tiny bit of rust on the back and there were only two or three small blobs of sealant around the backing. Since the metalwork and the mirror seemed good and I could not be bothered to return it, I applied some outdoor sealant that I already had around the edge on the back. If I had to buy a tube of good quality sealant, this would not have been good value at all.
