The adjustable ratchet comes with interchangeable 'teeth' of various shapes to suit different type indents. The jaws open wide enough to cope with watch backs up to (approx) 1.5" / 4cm. This is OK for smaller watches, but not large enough for gents sports watches. That said, for the cost of the kit and the price of a few batteries I was still able to get four out of 6 watches going again, saving over £20 in the process compared to visiting a store.
