  • Not just a book for young black women.

    This book is an excellent one, not as academic as it might at first appear. The main body of the book is composed of studies in their own words of successful black women in Britain today, how they got to where they are and about the personal and general kinds of discrimination which they have had to overcome. I am a white male in his sixties and was asked to read it by a young black woman and I am very glad to have done so. However, not just someone of my age but young males -- white and black -- should be made aware of how being a woman and black make success more difficult but now achievable for young black women, and how they are now achieving such success, thanks to or in rebellion from their forebears.
