Eventually had to take it apart and file down the rough metal edges that must have been rubbing against the rails. Greased up on reassembly. Unfortunately it looked like the general trend of cheap imports of metal components vs Brooks itself for the better quality leather bits. The other saddle 2 weeks earlier had no issues. Go figure?
