    A replacement 12V battery readily available for a key fob

    I was asked to get my relative a spare battery for a gate key fob, bearing in mind that if the battery in the key fob were to go flat, they would be locked in! I looked inside the fob and was surprised to see a cylindrical cell, about 25mm long and marked as 12 volts. This seemed unusual, but fortunately it was easily possible to obtain the exact battery for this requirement. Looking at the expiry date, it should be fine for 2 to 3 years.
