I found doing so fixed the problem. Not quite as stable side-to-side as a really good X stand but it is much more stable back-to-front. My only real problem is that the stand and accessories stink of cigarette smoke. The keyboard straps only work on makes that have a built-in strap hole with the right size screw gauge. You normally only find these on smaller and lighter keyboards.

If your keyboard or synth is heavy (I'm using mine for a Motif XF8) it is does have some wiggle when you move it left to right. Highly advised yo not use it as a touring stand. It comes with regular feet this may help with stability instead of the included wheels. Easy to out together (about 10 min taking it slow) includes rubber keyboard strap (if your keyboard or synth has the keyboard strap threaded connector.
