    Tuning up to change

    Excellent acting by some of the best British actors of the era the film was made. John Mills as the Commanding Officer trying to keep within the regulations but being frustrated by the 'old hands' attitudes. Alex Guiness plays one of the old hands and trying to undermine the CO with his traditional ways. Good portrayal of an old Scottish regiment in barracks conditions at Edinburgh Castle during the period
