About this product
Product Information
Few rulers have impressed themselves so forcefully on the memory and imagination of their people as Queen Elizabeth I. 'Elizabethan England' was, in a very real sense, Elizabeth's England, and the country she left behind when she died was a kingdom that had won a commanding position among the great powers of Europe. This book, first published in The Oxford History of England covers all aspects of the reign of Elizabeth, encompassing social and cultural history as well as political and economic. Among the principal issues it deals with are the Religious Settlement, England's relations with foreign powers, notably France and the Netherlands, Mary Stuart's challenge to the succession, the Armada, and the Irish problem. In the sphere of the arts, particular attention is paid to drama and poetry, and developments in the sciences are also discussed.

- a***x (241)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseAs usual, this seller is completely trustworthy: the book was as described, terrific value, arrived very swiftly from America, well packaged and safe. It was an old library book, but in great condition and appearance, and there can be no criticism, simply thanks and praise for a job well done.
- a***i (1397)- Feedback left by buyer.Past 6 monthsVerified purchaseAn excellent book lot of valuable information regarding all aspects of sewing. A very rare find as bought from the USA. Which was dispatched and and delivered quickly. Excellent communication throughout the transaction. This book was in very good condition as described and well packaged. Happy to highly recommend this seller with reasonable postage from USA. Many thanks.
- c***r (526)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseBook as specified, rapid delivery (from USA to UK), and a reasonable price for the book. Overall, my book arrived in "ok quality" packaging. A padded "book mailer" envelope was used. However, inside, there was no other protective packaging. One small point of constructive feedback: perhaps cardboard packaging could have been implemented, as a number of competing book sellers are now implementing cardboard packaging, especially for higher price books subject to international delivery.
