Contorni is the Italian word for side dishes. The follow up to Insalate, Contorni contains over 60 recipes for this sometimes overlooked part of the meal. As in Insalate, the recipes are arranged by season to take full advantage of the freshest produce available. The dishes are not specifically vegetarian - though most end up that way - and a few contain anchovies. The gorgeous photographs in Contorni show the beautiful Italian countryside, markets, and ripe vegetables as well as mouthwatering finished food shots.
