Humidifier Filter
Like most humidifier replacement filters, this Holmes branded version provides effective filtration of tap water used in compatible humidifiers. The cylindrical design is to accommodate those humidifiers which require this rounded shape to fit within the predesigned filter compartments. There is no setup required. Each humidifier type allows for simple opening to access the filter's compartment in which the filter is simply inserted. The filters make no sound. Any sounds will come from the humidifier itself, as the filters are soft woven paper-type webs which are virtually sound-free. These filters trap contaminants and minerals in tap water and hold them until filter replacement is required. Replacement varies, based on the amount of impurities in the particular water being used. ... Normally designed for tap water usage. Local water supplies have a very direct effect on the time each filter can be used before replacement is required. Overall, most filters of this type work well; with some being more sturdily constructed than others. All of these filters perform the same basic function and will effectively in the various brands of humidifiers in which they are used. The end result is the humidifying of the air with a minimal amount of unwanted contaminants as possible, being spread through the air. Overall this filter is good.
