  • Buy it and get enraged!

If you're my age (65) you'll remember when England was a good functional and disciplined country. Peter Hitchens highlights all this and you wonder when everything went wrong?

  • Well made argument

This book is good for both conservative and non conservatives alike. With the fact that Mr. Hitchens has lived through the era in which he is critiquing it gives his opinion that much more weight. The book lays out several contributors (few of which are unavoidable in the long run) as to why the social fabric of this island has disintegrated into something not even its native inhabitants care to defend. Well researched and many of the observations made by those opposed to the social changes (which are referenced in the book) have prophetically come to be. Definitely worth a read if you are struggling to make sense of the lunacy all around us in 2019 and beyond (and indeed from 200)

  • Flawed but brilliant

Perceptive, well researched. A completely different way of analysing Britain in the postwar years. Many flawed arguements, but still a provocative and worthwhile read.
