    If you currently own the batteries then this is a very good option for your grass edging. It is no good for cutting large open areas, the cord extension is simply not long enough and the machine does not have enough grunt. It is best to manually extend the cord by pushing the button and pulling the cord than bumping the head on the ground. Bumping the button is fine with large commercial strimmers. I can recommend this cordless. I now own two, the other being an older model.

    Over priced considering poor build quality and design very dissapointing

    As a long time makita advocate I normally love makita products having owned and used many different makita products drills drivers saws of differeing types over many many yrs I was underwelmed with the strimmer I bought it is at best underpowered and poor build quality that I personally can not see it lasting long the plastic parts strimmer head and gaurd handel have very flimsey build quaility also the strap is so short it would only be useable by a dwarf TBH.
