Inhaltsangabe: Einleitung: Verpackungen gehoeren zum taglichen Leben. Sie dienen zur sicheren Lieferung, zum Schutz der Waren und zur Darbietung dieser. Sie bestehen aus Glas, Pappe und Karton, Kunststoff, Weissblech, Aluminium und Holz. Dies sind alles wertvolle Rohstoffe, deren Wiederverwendung oder Verwertung zur Schonung der naturlichen Rohstoffquellen dient. Man unterscheidet zwischen oekologisch vorteilhaften und nachteiligen Verpackungen. Laut einer OEkobilanz des Umweltbundesamtes aus dem Jahr 2000 gelten Mehrwegflaschen, Getrankekartons und PE-Schlauchbeutel als oekologisch vorteilhafte Verpackungen. Zu oekologisch nachteiligen Verpackungen zahlen Getrankedosen sowie Einwegflaschen aus Glas und Kunststoff. Da seit Jahren eine Zunahme der nachteiligen Getrankeverpackungen zu erkennen ist, wird uber Einschrankungsmassnahmen nachgedacht und diskutiert. In der folgenden Arbeit soll ein Gesamtuberblick uber die Thematik und Problematik des Pflichtpfandes auf Einweg-Getrankeverpackungen als eine dieser Massnahmen geschaffen werden. Die Auswirkungen und der gesamte Verlauf der oeffentlichen Diskussion um das sogenannte Dosenpfand stehen dabei im Vordergrund.
