    Royals are great, aren't they?

Given the almost universally high praise for this film, I was sorely disappointed. The main theme appears to be that royalty is a Really Great Idea and shouldn't be questioned because Royals are just like us, aren't they? The shots of 1950s Rome are well-chosen and it's fun in a deeply conventional, status quo-supporting way. But for anyone with the slightest leaning towards republicanism, give this a wide berth.

  • It says it all.

Good story with excellent actors. The Roman environs were just as I remembered them from years ago.

  • Roman Holiday

Excellent film. Great actors. Beautifully directed. 5 stars. That's assuming you don't favour a republic and are anti-monarchy. If you are and you can put aside your preferences of the sort of society you like you wiil enjoy the DVD. Hepburn terrific as always.

  • Audrey Hepburns coming out

Fantastic post war romantic comedy. Charming, story with handsome lead Gregory Peck and ethereal Audrey Hepburn. An hour plus of joyous escapism.
