    Fast paced Trekkie action!

    An action movie all the way and this is perhaps the best and worst thing about the film. It is fast moving and engaging with a decent plot. The only thing I would say is that there are just too many James Bond style stunts for Captain Kirk. Nevertheless Chris Pine performs well and the other Enterprise characters are equally accomplished. The special effects are spectacular and I would watch the film again. Nice integration of humour to break up the tension every now and then.

    A great addition to the Star Trek franchise.

    This film is enthralling and will entertain (almost) everyone. The story is believable, some would say 'logical'. The characters are, on the whole, well rounded and relatable. The acting is outstanding and the sets are perfect, well relating to the broad history of the franchise in general.

    Star Trek: Beyond - Good but not quite up with the 1st two

    The reboot continues with another solid film. But not up there with the first 2 of which the 1st still remains the best. Doesn't quite grab you like they do and the gradual loss of the clever links to the original stories is a real negative. But the excellent banter between Kirk, McCoy & Spock still delivers well and Pine, Urban & Quinto have to be commended for how they have grabbed the spirit of the originals. The feisty character of Jaylah (Sofia Boutella) was one of the films best assets. Sadly, the ending didn't seem to carry the tenseness of the earlier films. But I would still would recommend it as a good watch.

    Another good Star Trek movie. This latest release has regrettably moved away from concentrating on the Star Trek characters and relationships for a shoot them up premise. Apart from this it is a good film.
