    Makita Branded Chuck

Friend came round to help with DIY job. He had a chuck for his drill bought at B&Q when he bought his Bosch drill. First time of use broke in half. Bought this Makita branded chuck to replace it. Hopefully better than B&Q chinese unit. Are they made from chocolate? Can't call it steel. Hopeful this branded unit might last longer.

  • Most critical review

    Wobble

Bought this to use with a drill attached sharpener.Build quality seems ok but it does not run true, has slight wobble as thou its bent so this made it useless on the sharpener

  • Excellent replacement for poor quality original chuck fitted

Used as a replacement for original no key chuck on a Silverline electric drill. The original chuck was poor at locking and gripping drill bits firmly. This replacement has given the electric drill a far more reliable chuck and so increased its usefulness.

  • A good option to keyless chuck, check thread and spindle size before purchase

I've had enough of trying to tighten a drill bit in a keyless chuck, instead of replacing my Makita chuck with a genuine keyless chuck I fitted this chuck. Drill bits are well and truly tight, saves damage to the gearbox, when you have strain it to tighten many times then try to release. Please check thread sizes, most smaller drill are 1/2" UNF, Milwaukee drills have made there's slightly larger, so you can only replace them with genuine, that are keyless, within weeks you have the same issue, drill bits will just not hold.

  • Great value and effective drill adapter

I needed to drill out a broken stud on my engine and my normal drill wasn’t powerful enough, I borrowed my builder neighbours SDS drill and used the adapter to drill the stud remains out, worked a treat.
