    Function over form

The 2016 iPhone SE is one of the best products Apple ever made. It is compact, well built and could be repaired with ease. Although 128GB is not a lot of memory, it is the highest capacity iPhone Apple made in this form factor (at the time of writing). Anyone considering purchasing this phone should not get a unit with less memory because it is always better to have more space available for apps and photos/videos. For making calls and texting, it is pretty good. The camera is also decent and the battery is quite efficient and easily lasts a whole day. Personally, I think the space grey version is best because the bezel is more prominent in other colours, and the Silver, Gold, and Rose Gold editions also have this horrible white borders on the back which look ugly. On the space grey version, the borders are black, and they look much better because they compliment the space grey, and the conservative tone calls less attention to itself. The phone does support a headphone jack so people can plug in their wired headphones. This is an excellent addition to a phone that is already pretty good. Apple will never make a small phone again, but if they did, it would be awesome if they made one in the size of the iPhone 4s with an edge to edge display, multiple cameras and a headphone jack. If not, this final small Apple iPhone is probably the best one they made and if you can get one in good condition, it is a lovely little device which feels premium in the hand and looks quite sleek and functional.

Probably best mobile of its size ever

If you don't go for the bigger is better school of thought about mobiles you really ought to put the SE high on your list. You do need at least 32GB for a good selection of Apps plus photos and music. In our view iOS remains ahead of Android as a complete package and continues to get better and better and we are pretty much an SE family. With Apple Pay and Touch ID it is now so easy and quick to pay with the SE. And we like the recent features of iOS which make it much easier and convenient to use, for example you can control so much of the 'phone after an upward swipe from the home screen. For myself I really do not want to carry around a bigger and heavier 'phone, the SE does everything I need and does it well and quickly, and fits in a shirt pocket or a small belt pouch, and it is not too expensive. I just wish I could justify buying one of the new iPads!

    A first-class smartphone at a third-class price.

Here I am, getting a compact phone to replace my old iPhone 5 which is exactly the same size, offers vastly better performance, has much better battery life (though no smartphone is good enough yet), and is exactly what I want, all at a price that compares well with a bottom-of-the-range Chinese phone. I suppose I could ask for an edge-to-edge screen, but I happily read books on it and all the features of my old phone are still here, with more, and much working faster too. What am I missing? The only extra thing the iPhone 6 has is the barometer, the iPhone 7 is slightly waterproof, and the iPhone X offers dual SIMs; all lovely, but coming at a much higher price and a rather larger size. Otherwise I'm happy to stick where I am. This will do me fine for the next 5 or 6 years.

    Old is good

I had an iphone 5s until recently. It got slower and slower and the battery was struggling to keep up with demands. Time for an upgrade, but I like the small size of the 5s in an age when phones are getting bigger and bigger. So the SE fitted the case I had for the 5s, BUT it is noticeably faster and yes, the battery life is excellent (it sees me over to the next day). And the price made this very good value for the phone's speed and capability. Touch ID is good - and now I can try out ApplePay. The camera is noticeably better than the 5s

    Brilliant piece of kit

I thought my previous iPhone 4s was good, but the SE is in a different league. It is a little bigger than the 4s, but the bigger screen compensates for the slight increase in size. It is the best of the iPhone 5 size phones, as it has the same 'guts' as the iPhone 6 and is therefore very fast when downloading, etc. It also has a much longer battery life than the 4s. If you want a great iPhone without the extra size of the 6, 6plus, 7 or 7plus, then this is the one for you.

Lightweight, great screen, still supported by apple and a joy to use.

using Nokia cell phones all my working life,(my last phone being a 7110) i was adament i was never going to cross over to a smart phone. How ever havig been persuaded by my granddaughter to look into one,and doing some research i bought an iphone se.What aneye opener, very easy to use ,bright screen, adaptable for hard of hearing and still small enough to keep in ones pocket. Also i'm getting a better signal with this phone than with my Nokia. What's bad about it ? haven,t found anything yet ,what's not to like about. A real gem to own.

    Great Value iPhone

Powerful and modern. Although not as compact as the original iPhone SE, this phone is a great compromise due to its larger memory footprint and more powerful processor. Considering the specification it boasts it is not too expensive. Anyone after an iPhone would do well to consider this as it offers power at a fraction of the cost. It will, due to its newness, have a great shelf-life which means of course it will be able to be upgraded to new Operating Systems for a few years yet - something worth considering when purchasing a new phone.

    Apple's Sleeper

This phone is based on the iPhone 4 & 5 which are perhaps the toughest of the iPhones, having a sturdy frame and relatively small display yet inside the processor is that of the iPhone 6 & 6s which offered plenty of performance and was economical with the battery. Apple price this phone as an entry model but for me it has all I need Performance and Ruggedness in a pocket size form-factor ....... Oh and it works just like the latest iPhones ! My Choice

    Decent enough phone, bargain price.

I was replacing an aging Iphone 5S. I like the size and the fact that it is effectively the same phone - just one that actually works. The battery lasts more than a day, it charges, the microphone works, and the camera lens isn't full of dust - I'm happy with that. And it was dirt cheap. But there are plenty of better phones around (my daughters new Moto is vastly better, but not quite as cheap and huge) - it all depends what you want.

    Small is Beautiful

It is surprising what can be packed into small spaces and still the iPhone SE has everything that any other Smartphone has but yet remains a handy "phone-size" phone. All the Apps are there and up to date iOS 11.2.2. It makes calls, receives calls, sends Texts and messages just as you would expect. Light, durable, compact - fits nicely into a jacket or trouser pocket - ready for easy access Anything bigger, surely, is called an iPad or a Laptop
